Christmas Gifts Round 1

Since most of my Christmas gifts are still a work in progress or all wrapped up, I only have the one that I can share with you for now since my bestie and I exchanged gifts tonight. I made both the card and tag set for her and the wall art to match both her room decor and a framed mirror another friend of ours gave her for her birthday. Since she's soon to move out she will need lots of beautiful stuff to decorate her walls.

The card was a design from one of my Christmas Club classes and the tag was made specially to coordinate with the card, a cute little matching set:

It's an odd colour combination for Christmas, I know, but I love the Wisteria Wonder with Soft Suede and Crumb Cake was a subtle match. I picked this card for her because I have used her favourite embossing folder and softly daubed the edges of the Whisper White CS with a bit of Soft Suede Ink. The Ornament Punch made the whole set really quick to complete, unlike last year when I was cutting these things out by hand.
I have used the Two Tags Die to cut out the tag, folded it in half and added the 'To and From' on the inside. The outside is decorated with more ornaments to match the card and a pretty Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon bow. The banner is from my Petal Cone Die and I have stamped a greeting from my Many Christmas Messages set just like the greeting on the card.

And here's the actual gift:

You can click on it to see it full size and get more of the detail in the lettering. The letters are cut out with my Serif Essentials Die and Chipboard. I have coloured the edges with a Soft Suede Stamp n Write Marker and covered them with letters cut out with Whisper White CS and the same die. I ran the CS letters through the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder and then sponge daubed them gently with Soft Suede Ink. The background paper is the new DSP coming out in the Sale A Bration Catalogue and will be available as a free gift for you when you purchase $60 of products starting January 24th! I love it, it's colourful, bright and perfect for Spring :)
I hope she loves her gift and can find somewhere to put it. These frames have a simple appeal even though the letters are a lot of work, you could use any DSP as I will show you next week when I share some more.

Cheers!

  1. Hi.

Just saw your card on Splitcoast Stampers. It's very similar to my cards from last Christmas:

  2. Hi Andrea, that's so funny, one of my customers made one almost identical to yours and that's where I got the idea, I wonder if she saw your card? Such a small world, do you mind if I post a link to your cards on here? They're gorgeous, I love your use of blue even better than my purple :)
